USEC Executive VP James Miller Chosen to Head Electricity Generating Company

BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 2001--James H. Miller, Executive Vice President of USEC Inc., will leave USEC to become President of PPL Generation. The announcement was made today by William H. Timbers, USEC President and Chief Executive Officer.

"These are exciting times in the electric power generation business. Jim will be heading PPL Generating, a Pennsylvania Power and Light subsidiary company that operates its U.S. nuclear and fossil fuel generation facilities," said Timbers. "While this is a terrific opportunity for Jim, we will certainly miss him here at USEC. Jim has been a strong and capable leader, and we wish him well in his new undertaking."

"I have made many friends at USEC and, working together, we have met many formidable challenges over the past five years," said Miller. "I am glad to have had the opportunity to work with so many talented and dedicated people throughout the company." Miller will leave USEC on February 2.

Morris Brown, USEC Vice President, Operations, will continue to direct USEC's operational, regulatory and safety activities.
